The clever people at www.craftcult.com who run the very popular Etsy utility Heartomatic, have made a new Etsy widget called Pocket Shop, you can see it running in the sidebar of this blog. I prefer this to the standard Etsy feed widget and I am sure it will convert, traffic better and get me more visits to Faded Splendour’s Etsy Shop.
Pocket Shop comes in a choice of seven different skins and is easy to implement on most popular blogging platforms.
Pocket Shop is available free at http://www.craftcult.com/shop_widget.php
Will keep you posted on how well this widget works and converts…

Are you looking to buy cheap vintage dresses? We always carry a huge range of vintage items from the 1920’s through to 1980’s. Our stock is constantly changing so often we dont have a chance to list items in our Etsy shop or on this site. We try to keep our prices as cheap as possible so many people are able to buy our stock to resell themselves.
If you would like to subscribe to our mailing list to get latest offers please fill in form at the side of the page… or view our cheap vintage dresses for sale here.
One of the reasons for originally setting up this blog was to promote our range of products, both handmade and vintage. I have dabbled with Etsy over the past year or so, but always end up listing stuff on Ebay as stuff tend to sell quicker on Ebay as it pulls more traffic. I make no secret that I hate Ebay, the way they treat their sellers and their constantly growing fees and I would love to see the day when I no longer ever have to use them. Over the last month or so I have been playing with Etsy to see if I can more or less kick Ebay into touch…
The Problem with Etsy.
Etsy is a brilliant concept and is getting good traffic, but due to their lack of category things tend to get completely lost a day or so after listing your item…
The Solution
The obvious solution is to drive more traffic directly to your Etsy shop, this can be done in numerous ways, such as:
Above are just some of the ways to improve sales and increase traffic to your Etsy shop. It is not a full and comprehensive list, just some of the ideas I have had whilst typing this blog post.
Follow Me.
Over the next few weeks, I intend to implement all of the above and more in an attempt to increase my currently pitiful Etsy traffic/sales rate. I will show you what I have done in my quest for Etsy domination and how well it has worked. I will post my Google Analytics Stats for my Etsy site, so you can see how well things are progressing and also show how best to use Google Analytics in conjunction with Etsy.
I have decided to post my Etsy efforts on this blog as it will help me to remain focused to the task and hopefully people will support me by leaving comments of their experiences of Etsy…
So if you would like to come along for the ride please subscribe to our RSS feed or subscribe to our Etsy traffic mailing list below.
Lots of people we know (you know who you are) have been nagging me to begin blogging on a regular basis again. I never really meant to stop blogging, but somehow it just happend. I began to look at things on the site and see quite a few things both in design and marketing, that I wasn’t quite happy with.
Over the last couple of days I have made quite a few changes to fadedsplendour.com, mostly stuff you will never see, but will make this site better. I am not quite there yet, there are still quite a few things that need tweaking and some more bells and whistles to add….. but I am getting there!
So for all you that nagged me….thank you! OK you won! We’re back!
This is my 1st post for a few weeks as we have moved house, so I have been without my beloved computer for a while.
Currently I’m I have no broadband connection or dial up so I am reliant on a mobile Vodaphone dongle (I love that word) which most of the time seems slower than dial up.
This Sunday we did The Little Vintage Lover Fair at Burnham Market as with Zoe’s previous fairs the day was really enjoyable, very busy and in a great location. Saw lots of old friends and also made a few new ones too.. So we would just like to say a big thank you to everybody that made the event so much fun!
Here’s some photos…please be aware, I have just bought a new camera and am not quite used to it yet so some snaps might not be quite the best quality!
Faded Splendour’s pitch for the day:

Tracey’s felt flowers sold very well..

as did her textiles…

Linda’s stock at Past Caring, Holt…always leaves us green with envy!

As does Dianne’s

Its always nice to see Sara, who has become a felt flower addict…

Im now panicking that all these photographs without brodband will take forever to upload…. so I am going to thumbnail the rest below! Feel free to pinch them but please do leave me a credit on your site.
